Georgina Knight

Children’s Mental Health Specialist

Registered Occupational Therapist (RCOT)

With over 15 years of experience working with children and teenagers across school, community, and healthcare settings, I specialise in supporting those with emotional, behavioural and social communication difficulties. As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner in CAMHS, I am experienced in psychosocial interventions, individual therapy, group work, advocacy for young people, support for parents and carers, and consultancy and liaison with professionals.

I value mental health and well-being, and I am committed to providing timely, effective support that truly makes a difference. Empowering Youth Therapies aims to complement existing treatments and organisations available to you, while also supporting access to the statutory services you are entitled to. While I'm proud to work with the NHS, I see the challenges our systems face. That's why I also work independently to help families invest in their children's mental health.

Why Choose Occupational Therapy?

As an Occupational Therapist (OT) I empower young people to live meaningful lives, and this is a big part of why I love what I do.

Occupation* is vital for providing purpose, structure, and a sense of self. It encompasses the activities and tasks we engage in daily, which can become challenging when we are facing difficulties. However, these occupations also serve as avenues for connection, self-expression, and participation in life. They play a crucial role in supporting our overall health and well-being.

When you work with me, you'll receive compassionate care and a safe space to process your experiences and feel heard. We’ll work together to understand your difficulties, create goals that are important to you, develop coping skills and strategies and navigate the challenges in a way that fosters growth. My aim is to empower you to thrive in your mental health and well-being, both in the present moment and as you look to the future.

*Your occupations are anything you need or want to do, from self-care, socialising, study, hobbies and interests, sports, sleeping, productivity, eating and anything and everything important to you.
